Steven Snowden’s genre-defiant, technologically cutting edge acoustic and electro-acoustic compositions for dance, theater, multi-media installations, and the concert hall, have been performed in 33 countries across six continents. Deeply rooted in bluegrass, folk, and rock, Steven devises non-traditional techniques and processes, composing works that lie outside expected musical method. Steven is the co-founder/director of the Fast Forward Austin Music Festival and currently resides in Austin, Texas where he works as a freelance composer and has been a visiting professor/composer in residence at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. A Fulbright Scholar in Portugal, Steven researched and implemented motion tracking technology as a means to facilitate collaboration between music and dance. Steven also rides his Harley through the Texas Hill Country whenever weather and time allow.
