LA-based composer Andrew McIntosh’s music is regularly performed in the US and Europe and has been featured at major venues worldwide, including several recent performances at the Los Angeles Philharmonic's Green Umbrella series in Walt Disney Concert Hall and at Monday Evening Concerts in Zipper Hall. Also a violinist, violist, and baroque violinist, Andrew is a member of the Formalist Quartet, dedicated to adventurous and current repertoire, performing around the US and Europe. As a solo artist he has appeared at venues including Stanford University, REDCAT, the Wulf, Unruly Music, Hamburger Klangwerktage, the Pianola Museum, and the Hammer Museum. He has played in festivals, concerts, art spaces, and recordings around the world with the Formalist Quartet, Tholl/McIntosh duo, Quatuor Bozzini, Wet Ink Ensemble, Dante Boon, and wild Up. A frequent performer on period instruments, Andrew has concertized with the American Bach Soloists, Bach Collegium San Diego, Musica Angelica, and many others.
Andrew holds degrees in violin, composition, and early music performance from the University of Nevada, Reno, the California Institute of the Arts, and the University of Southern California.
